do not take away the consumer protection this initial regulation was put in place to provide. I wish we did not need to regulate ethics but we have proven we do. we know business needs profit but financial services are best known for confusing the customer so an informed choice is virtually impossible. Confusing or misleading the consumer is one way to market and sell product or service. Plain and understandable language, clear realistic examples "what if, then this is result" , and FAQ's with full disclosure are rarely part of the selling/promotional process. Please do not let the practice of large upfront credit fees enlarge their opportunities to prey further on in debt consumers that may be trying to better their situation.
I am a (not in debt) consumer with out formal financial background but hear situations from a few friends trying to get back on their financial feet . It's so sad to discover they fell for a "fix" that has hit them with various fees they didn't expect and it's too late.
