It seems the very successful concept of a full continuum retirement community has been left out of the conversation. There are a number of retirement communites in maine and around the counrtythat offer independent living, assisted living and skilled nursing care on the same campus and often the the same building. This concept is very attractive to seniors and family members. The opportunity to move across the continuum, even temporarily provides a smooth transition in a familiar environment.
Our independent apartments and cottages are very different from our assisted living apartments and they in turn are very different from the nursing living areas in design, services and staffing. At Quarry Hill we accept all payors and have a substantial population of residents supported by the Mainecare program. It would be unfortunate to exclude Mainecare folks from enjoying the community because we are incorrectly perceived as to institutional. Nothing could be further from the truth in terms of privacy, choice and living as independently as possible.. Thank you
