I'm writing to stongly support a delay in the effective date of the Interim Final Rule on Competitive Bidding. The delay is needed to allow an oppertunity for providers, clinicians, and Medicare beneficiaries to provide input on the changes that CMS will be making as a result of the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act passed by Congress in 2008. This Interim Final Rule was issued by CMS without the benefit of these comments and in lite of the major porblems encountered by CMS in implementing Round 1 in 2008 it is irresponsible for CMS to move ahead without allowing adequate time for public input.
