I work for a small DME company and have been watching all of this unfold. I am very concerned that no one has thought very seriously about what this will do for patient care. Not all of us DME suppliers all carry the same things which means that many patients may have to deal with multiple suppliers. I don't know about you but I much prefer to have MY OWN CHOICE of where I go and that I can get everything at one location. I am in close contact with many patient's who are confused as to how things happen and you have no idea how many people I talk to that end up signing up for managed care and not even know they did. I have also heard many patient's complain about just having items dropped off at their door step with no instruction, follow up or service. From a supplier stand point I don't think that anyone has done a true study on what impact this has on the small business owners. I think we need to slow down and take a really good look at all aspects and look at what us suppliers have to contend with. Please reconsider delaying this until further research can be done and the impact it will cause. Thank you for your time.
