Medicare Program: Supplemental Proposed Changes to the Hospital Inpatient Prospective Payment Systems

I support the proposed CMS rule change allowing Physician Assistants (PAs) to order, without co-signature by a physician, respiratory care services in the inpatient setting. While the number of PAs working in a hospitalist role is increasing, delaying respiratory services while searching for a co-signature is counterintuitive to good medical practice.
