I support the changes proposed but would like to see them expanded to include tele-interpretive services too. The Joint Commission has drawn a distinction between telemedicine where there is shared responsiblity, authority to write orders, etc. and tele-interpretive readings where only readings are provided such as echocardiography, sleep studies, etc. The guidelines as they are currently written appear to only apply to telemedicine. As a critical access hospital we will still be left to credential many, many physicians for the tele-interpretive readings. Thank you for your consideration.
