In this Proposed Rule, CMS would require ambulance services to start reporting mileage to the nearest tenth of a mile for dates of service on or after January 1, 2011. It must be noted that our ambulances do not have tenths of a mile on the odometer. There should be a provision for ambulances that do not display tenths of a mile.
