As a result, many health plans have been forced to create provider performance reports based only on their own claims, which may represent only a small portion of a provider’s overall practice. I have many patients that are self pay. Any reporting of information from medicare or insurers will be biased in some way. If this info gets on the internet it has the potential to ruin me. Primary care physicians are suffering enough financially. The harder you make it to make a living, the fewer primary care physicians there will be. With the current shortage the government should be doing things that encourage growth in the field.
