The Face to Face requirement is more than just a nuisance, it takes time from the Home Health Agency, the hospitalist, and the primary physicians to complete the Face to Face document.
In a idealistic world, it appears in black and white to be just a general addition to the already extensive paper work that CMS has evolved through the yers. In reality, the Face to Face is already taking up another 30-45 minutes on the home health agency side plus at least 15 on the physician side. Now they are wanting to add the FAce to face to Medicaid! Let's face it, Medicaid reiumbursement already causes Home health sufferring. Some agencies already choose not take Medicaid, this will just enable and force more to do the same.
Recently I had knee surgery and have learned the barriers faced with non wt. bearing. I think those making these rules should do the same. Not every agency can hire someone to do all the new time consuming regulations that someone thinks up, we should be providing care.
