Although I am a member of AHIMA, in contrast to AHIMA's position, I support the decision to delay ICD-10 until October 2014.
Our facility needs the additional year to get fully prepared. The more we learn about the impact of ICD-10, the larger the scope of the project becomes. Beyond training, we need to test the revenue cycle flow with all of our payers, and they appear to need more time to get ready as well.
I appreciate your consideration.
