RE: File code CMS-9968-P. To Whom It May Concern: I am writing to express my opposition to the proposed “accommodation” to the HHS mandate. I do so for the following reasons: The so-called “accommodation” does NOT expand the number of non-profits that can opt out of the mandate. Nor does it remove employers from the business of providing morally objectionable health coverage to their employees. What’s more, the revised mandate does not even pretend to offer any “compromise” to private businesses. The alternatives for business owners who do not wish to violate their consciences or religious beliefs are: Pay crushing fines ... or shut down your business. Finally, there are still no provisions to allow individual employees to opt out of the morally objectionable coverage that their employers are forced to provide. For all these reasons I believe the revised HHS mandate be scrapped entirely.
