Retired and Senior Volunteer Program Amendments

Thank you for the opportunity to respond. As the executive director of FOCUS for the last two years, I have been amazed at the amount of service our volunteers offer. The RSVP program has been very successful, but has also cost the host agency well over the match that is required. As funding for FOCUS has been reduced, we do not have the funds needed to off-set the RSVP opperational costs. With this said, we need more guidance for new directors (FOCUS has had 3 RSVP directors within 2 years) and either additional money or reduced expectations. FOCUS is a million dollar business, with 6 departments who share one secretary and one fiscal officer. The money we recieve goes to the seniors and not to additional staff or high salaries. I appreciate the well thought out process that went into making RSVP programs more accountable. Give us the tools and we will show you just how successful we can be. Thank you for your time.
