Restricted Areas and Danger Zone at Naval Station Mayport, FL (Document ID COE-2009-0063-0001)
I believe that it is imperative that we in the military must constantly observe and adjust the boundaries of our installations. It is in the best interest of the military and the safety of the inhabitants of the surroundings areas. In our ever growing military we need to ensure we have the room to conduct missions without endangering the locals. You also must ensure we have enough of a safety zone to ensure that any sort of intrusion is detectable before assets can be reached and damaged or stolen.
I completely agree with the proposal for The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) to revise the existing regulations for a restricted area and establish a danger zone in the waters adjacent to and within the boundaries of Naval Station (NAVSTA) Mayport in Florida. Without this adjustment there is a possibility of endangering the missions out of Naval Station Mayport. Even more so, there is a great possibility of endangering the safety of the locals living in and around their safety.
Being that there is neither foreseen economic impact on the local community nor an impact on the quality of the human environment I agree with this proposal. I would not understand if anyone would oppose this rule given the importance of safety and the desire to keep our boarders safe.
