Audit Requirements for Third Party Conformity Assessment Bodies

IFIA submits these comments to address the recently published proposal for audit requirements of third party conformity assessment bodies as a condition of their continuing accreditation. The new audit [rpcedures establish baseline requirements for independent 3rd party laboratories and also firewalled suppliers laboratories and government laboratories. Our concern is with the lack of additional safeguards established for firewalled and government laboratories for protection against undue influence, conflicts of interest and impartiality.
