The Society of the Plastics Industry, Inc. (SPI) is pleased to submit these initial comments in response to the request for comments relating to testing, certification and labeling of certain consumer products pursuant to section 14 of the Consumer Product Safety Act (CPSA). See 74 Fed. Reg. 58611 (November 13, 2009). SPI will be unable to participate in the upcoming workshops scheduled for December 10 and 11, but wanted to share some preliminary views for consideration in advance of the workshops.
