As a consumer I can not understand how manufacturers can ignore the risks that their table saws present to we consumers. Knowing that the safety devices and technologies to make them are readily available but still not putting them on their saws is just unforgiveable. If there ever was a situation or case where the government should step in and force an idustry to act for the safety of its people this has to be it. The entire world, all it's govenments and the people of the planet would not stand for an auto maker selling a vehicle without brakes. Some day, very soon I hope, the same will apply to table saws. Some times people must save those around them from their own stupidity and this is the perfect example.
It's time for the government to step in and do what is right. If those manufactures who are putting us at risk were to spend the money they are using to try and stop this safety feature from being mandated on implementing a safety on their products it would already have been done and thousands would not be suffering because of the lack of it.
Make these safeties mandatory as soon as possible. Quit giving these profiters more time at the expense of those whom are being injured so they can make more money.
