Re: DFARS Case 2004-D010
As a loyal US citizen I wish to make comments
concerning your proposed relaxation of security rules
governing foreign workers. Basically I'm concerned
your relaxation will prevent information from being
secure and injure American workers who should be the
ones doing this kind of work. Common sense says
workers from foreign countries should be trusted less
than those who have strong roots in this country. US
citizens should be preferred over non citizens.
As a computer programmer, I've seen how US
corporations can distort reality to their own
advantage. Bill Gates insists he can't find qualified
American workers while at the same time large numbers
of US workers are being laid off, salaries stagnate,
large numbers of foreign workers are brought in under
H-1B or L1 (and these workers are almost always from
low wage countries), and jobs are sent overseas.
Sometimes the American workers have even been forced
to train their foreign worker replacements to get
severance.
My father was a career military man and if he were
still with us I'm sure he would object strongly to
your proposed changes. I also was once in the Army
Reserves. In the first gulf war my brother was sent
to Saudi Arabia because he had a part in developing
the smart high technology weapons used there. I never
have believed American workers can't do high tech
work. I believe employers mostly just save on labor
costs by substituting foreign workers for US workers.
Immigratrion reform and restriction have become very
important political topics for me and your policy
changes are a step in the wrong direction. I'm not
the only one who feels this way.
Sincerely,
A loyal US citizen
