Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement:
Waiver of Specialty Metals Restriction for Acquisition
of Commercially Available Off-the-Shelf Items
DFARS Case 2007-D013
Re: Industry Comments
Vicor Corporation, with operations based in Andover, Massachusetts, designs and
manufactures COTS electronic power components in support of DoD programs.
Vicor employs over 1,000 people with two manufacturing facilities located in the
US. Vicor supports the proposed Rule (Case 2007-D013) to waive specialty
metals restrictions for COTS items. Passage of this Rule would eliminate an
unnecessary burden on commercial electronic suppliers and ensure the
uninterrupted flow of material needed for DoD programs.
Sincerely,
Keith Nardone
