Subject: 252.2456-70XX, Reporting, Reutilization and Disposal Section (a) Definitions In order to clarify the terms manufacturer name and manufacturer part number as used in the clause, so that Standard Form 1428 descriptions enable more effective reutilization, add the following two definitions: 1. Manufacurer part number means the part number assigned by the supplier of the part, not the part number subsequently assigned by the prime contractor for configuration management purposes. 2. Manufacturer name means the name of the supplier of the part, not the name of the prime contractor who purchased the part with the intent of integrating the item into a higher assembly.
