I feel that any regulation passed that will help standardize the Department of Defense's database and system and help make assigning identification PIINs to their certain instruments would be considered an obvious benefit as long as by making it more standardized and easier to assign, they must make sure that the ease of assigning numbers will not result in the looking over the smaller entities within the system. Also, if this regulation results in the rerecording of every PIINs on all instruments and entities, then it must be cost beneficial to the whole of the system because it could make it easier to assign and locate these instruments with the new assignments of PIINs, but cost more to accomplish this task and not save and/or make back the money it cost to achieve this proposed rule.
