The proposed move of Alfaxalone to the Schedule IV list of drugs is a prudent move by the FDA to curtail the increase in prescription drug abuse throughout the United States. Alfaxalone is an analgesic medication that may be addictive because of its analgesic effects. This a relatively new medication and it is smart to control the delivery of this medication to the general public because of its potential addictive effects.
