The proposals contained in DHS-2007-0540 are terrible. Does the 4th amendment
mean nothing any more? Since when has it been necessary to track the lawful
travel movements of US Citizens? By and far the worst and most egregious part
of this whole scheme is the lack of applicability of the privacy act. What in
the world is wrong with allowing one to access the information collected about
oneself? This is just one more step down the slippery slope in the wholesale
stripping of civil rights in this country. I think I am all alone in my
objections. My countrymen are asleep at the wheel. What a shame. Our nation
used to be inhabited by men and women that roared for freedom, now they just
whine for more protection. To those people I say, "When the big bad wolf does
come for you, and he has some type of uniform provided by the US Government, it
will be too late to resist or do anything about it." Just remember, America,
you sealed your own fate. You made your own bed. Welcome to the Peoples
Democratic Republic of Amerika, land of the ostensibly free, Home of the
formerly brave.
