It is unfair for the DOD to ask private hospitals to facilitate all of the budget cuts for the DOD. In the free market, hospitals are faced with high than ever levels of bad debt, charity care and cuts in reimbursement. If these proposed cuts in Champus reimbursement go through, you will find either hospitals refusing to accept these patients or hospitals that do accept them going bankrupt and closing their doors. Either way - the patient (and isn't this what is ALL about) suffers Susan Keith, RN 40 years experimce in nursing
