Given the historical background on the subject of BRAC, I see the importance of this proposed rule of revitalizing base closure communities and addressing the impacts of realignment. Communities that have relied on military bases in the past and have become defunct due to DoD reduction of expenditures, has left many communities in economic hardship for years. This proposed rule is a great addition for policy change. This will definitely alleviate some bureaucratic measures that at times prolong positive outcomes. With the economic state that our nation is in, I believe that this is a positive venture “a win, win” situation for the host cities and their communities as well as for DoD receiving a portion of shares obtained through revenue. The creation of jobs for the surrounding communities, I’m sure will have a domino effect to our nation as a whole. Having been in the military myself, and affected by the closure of the Long Beach, Ca Naval base. I understand and support this proposed rule and its future financial goals
