I support this policy. As a member of the Armed Forces I personally understand the effects smoking has on the nation's military readiness. Smoking affects not only the smokers themselves, but their family and co-workers. Families have to deal with the effects of second-hand smoke and the loss of family finances used to pay for the tobacco. Co-workers have to deal with the loss of productivity because of numerous smoke breaks or hospital visits because of tobacco related illnesses. By allowing all TRICARE beneficiaries the use of all of the available tools to quit smoking there will be no excuse available to them and hopefully tobacco use within the military will decrease greatly.
