It is sad that TriCare lists the behavior analyst certification board. This board facilitates the unlicensed practice of a mental health discipline. It should be shutdown as it interferes with states ability to properly regulate the mental health disciplines. Licensed disciplines such as counseling, social work and psychology (which has a limited license) have more than enough personnel to treat the autistic population. In addition, anyone who tells you that you need a special certification to conduct a functional assessment, set up a reward program or break tasks into smaller tasks is either lying to you are a fool. TriCare should reconsider its approach in this matter. These are costly funds to be giving to people who lack the oversight of a direct licensing board. Indeed, it is a trampling of the rights of a state to regulate those who engage in these activities.
