Re: DOE Docket ID: [DOE-2007-0002-0052] “Loan Guarantees for Projects That Employ Innovative Technologies.”
The undersigned groups, representing a diverse cross section of interests and millions of members and activists across the county, respectfully request an extension of the comment period for DOE Docket ID: [DOE-2007-0002-0052] “Loan Guarantees for Projects That Employ Innovative Technologies,” published in the Federal Register on August 7, 2009.
We appreciate DOE’s efforts in soliciting comments on the changes to the Title XVII Loan Guarantee Program, however, due to the complexity and highly technical nature of the changes, the far-reaching implications of the program, the diverse array of parties that would be impacted, and the limited time to review, we submit this request for a 60-day extension. This would provide a total 90-day comment period, allowing adequate time for all affected parties to thoroughly review and comment on the application.
Granting this request will allow all interested stakeholders a more appropriate opportunity to develop useful and substantive comments for DOE to consider. This time frame will still ensure that the DOE has sufficient time to finalize and implement the rule. We believe it is important that all stakeholders be provided adequate review time prior to its implementation.
We appreciate DOE’s consideration of this request.
Respectfully submitted,
