My wife and I are proud an excited to have moved to New Hampshire and provide medical and dental services through our privately owned companies. We purchased a beautiful 38a lot that looks right at the Presidential Range and Cannon Mountain without any obstructions. The view is breath-taking. Over the past two years we have obtained plans, permits, and funds to build our family home. We have spent over five years looking for this property and invested almost $500,000 in the process and purchase of this parcel. As planned, we are breaking ground this Spring. We are very excited.
However, we just found out about this Northern Pass project last month. I believe the proposal puts this lines and towers in front of our home and the alternate route puts these lines and towers on our property and also in our view.
We can not allow this for the following reasons:
1) Decreases our property worth and conflicts with our plans to build.
2) Although no study has found power lines to cause cancer, there is an association. ( Studies conducted during my Public Health Masters at Loma Linda University, Ca.)
3) Northern Pass has never contacted us about their proposal
4) We moved to Northern New Hampshire to be Free of these structures
5) The construction of these towers violate the deeded r.o.w.
6) Damages the overall pristine beauty of New Hampshire
7) Will negatively effect others property value, tourism, and wildlife
I urge you not to allow this.
Sincerely,
Dr. Hugh Hawkins
