With regard to the NPRM as it applies to golf courses, while the ADA is clear on
what constitutes discrimination, and while to some the DOJ regulations are clear
as to how to comply, apparently the golf industry does not understand how to
comply. Decisions by DOJ in settlements and mediation have consistently
resulted in single rider adaptive golf cars being required for mobility impaired
golfers in order to provide equal opportunity and access. Still, the golf industry
has not embraced the concept of providing single rider adaptive golf cars. I
support golf courses having single rider golf cars that not only accommodate
mobility impaired golfers, but can also be used by able bodied golfers.
