I hope you do not raise the fees. It is already a challenge for individuals in many countries to afford the fees at their current level, much less a higher level. Participants in the visitor exchange program (J-1 visas) not only learn things in the US to take back home, but also contribute to the US by broadening the horizons of the Americans they meet. This is just one way to build peaceful connections with our neighbors around the world.
