Regarding the $35.00 increase in passport fee. This is OK, but $10.00 for this fee should be given to the people who are selling passports for you. We do this at the county level. We were getting $30.00 and now it is $25.00 plus we have to take more postage out of this fee for mailing. This is not right and justifiable. My employees do passports along with their other duties of recording - helping people do research - elections - working for commissioners etc. Some counties are going to stop doing this for our people, because with the amount of money earned - it just isn't worth it. You are stealing from the ones that are doing the front line duty for the passport agency. Fee increase will be angry people at my counter - also when agency messes things up - it is my employees who take the brundt of the angry people. Once again - this is not acceptable.
