Dear Regulator,
We are in the final stages of completing the k1 Fiancee process. The site stated the fee is equal to $131.00 US in Filippine pesos.
I paid the $18.00 fee to make 3 calls to the Philippine Embassy for questions related to the application process and made an appointment date for my Fiancee for June 29, 2010. I was told the fee was $131.00. The site now says the fee is now $350.00.
I spoke to two (2) different Philippine Embassy operators and they both told me the fee was $131.00 when I called. I sent the money to my Fiancee so she could pay that amount.
In contract law, terms cannot be altered without both parties agreeing to it. I do not agree to the 267% increase. Will the Philippine Embassy honor the agreement that was in effect when I confirmed the information? The money has been sent. Thank you.
Sincerely,
