Please no not embargo coins and other collectibles. Ancient coins are, like modern coins, a means of commerce and were distributed widely across borders. They are generally quite common, and not a part of a cultural heritage. Furthermore, the track record of countries protecting their so called cultural heritage is quite poor. Wide distribution best protects a heritage, and private ownership is the best means to insure proper care for later generations. How many coins need to sit in museums, rather than being studied and enjoyed by collectors worldwide.
