Via this letter I would like to make known my OBJECTION to certain rules being considered that would prevent the importation of coins from areas of the ancient world consisting of Thrace , Greek city- states such as Messembria and coins minted in what is now Bulgaria.
It should be noted that these are among the most common ofr Ancient coins, readily available several dollars from any dealer. These were issued in the the hundreds of thousands and maybe millions.
Because they are so common almost none of these coins have any provenance.
In fact due to the workings of the ancient world , many coins apparently from one place are in fact from another so it is impossible to know which coins came from where
Bottom line is my feeling that there is no reason to stop importation of coins from current day Bulgaria.
Their common nature makes it an impossible task to identify which are covered and which not.
Their common status makes it absurd to try.
Last there is no reason.
These are not rare art forms but dirt cheap common objects by and large
