I have previoulsy submitted an earlier request that you strongly consider eliminating the 32 hour a week demand that employers must satisfy in order to participate in the SWT program. Over the past several years I have found jobs for French students who spend a summer at my house while working at various jobs I have found for them through their participation in the SWT and the obtention of a J1 Visa. Asking an employer in advance to gurantee a 32 hour work week can pose an obstacle especially if you are dealing with a restaurant or service business where weekly demands can vary. My students have normally had work weeks that range from 20-30 hours per week, the benefits of experiencing our culture have been enormous for all concerned. I charge no rent and additionally very little for food while they are staying with me. Please consider this request and many thanks to those at the State Department who have taken my calls which is how I found this website. I have really enjoyed hosting these students and would very much like to continue this activity. Lewis Seiler, Louisville, Kentukcy
