I have worked in the trucking industry and now I work for a collection site, so I have been on both sides. I think doing the observed collection on follow-ups and return to work is a wonderful thing. When I worked in trucking we had drivers that had failed their drug screens and were sent to a SAP and put in "the program". Not one of these people ever made it through "the program" without failing another drug screen. We became a zero tolerance company because of this. Now that I work for a collection site, you would not believe what we find on people trying to beat drug screens. We check everybody as the rules allow, but things still get through. Just last week, after a follow-up drug screen left our facility, we found a plastic bag and cup in the tank of our comode. I think that should all be observed.
