The proposed focus on education, equity, sustainability, and safety and security in facility management and operations should be absolute priorities.
The highest and best use for the Clearinghouse is to collect, analyze and disseminate information.
Because of the dearth of sound data on facility condition and spending, the Clearinghouse should assume responsibility for collecting, analyzing and making public as much comparable facility data from already extent sources, as possible.
The key audience for the Clearinghouse should be public officials responsible for policy, standards, budgeting and management of school facilities, rather than private sector practitioners.
Eliminate requirements for doing training and providing technical assistance, except through what can be done by developing resource materials that others can use for training and technical assistance.
Find more cost effective ways to disseminate resources and materials than direct training and technical assistance, using innovative communications strategies such as tours, webinars, sharing information through policy wikipedia, and through other national and regional conferences of officials, associations and private practitioners.
