The proposed ruling to include "tank-less" electric water heaters should be
included in the DOE's final list of acceptable residential devices consumers can
purchase and through this purchase affect energy consumption reducation. Since,
the "tank-less" water heater heats only the water that is needed (by it's design) it
saves tons of energy. With this in mind, the DOE's acceptable ruling should also
translate into tax credits and/or breaks from the Federal Government when a
residential or business consumer purchases and installs this type of unit at their
property.
