2009-12-26 Comment supporting proposed energy standards

After reviewing the Department of Energy, Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy 10 CFR Part 430, Docket Number EE–2006–BT–STD–0129 RIN 1904–AA90 labeled Energy Conservation Program: Energy Conservation Standards for Residential Water Heaters, Direct Heating Equipment and Pool Heaters I have some comments to share with your department. As a consumer user of the prescribed heating devices, I can testify to their power usage and cost associated with their use. Everyone uses hot water heaters and home heating devices without much concern for the overall energy usage in demand. Pool heaters are another feature for those that want the added comfort of warm water or year around swimming further draining the energy demand. It’s more than just a cost issue, since those that can afford to use with continue without any regard for the cost associated with their use. There has to be more stringent standards and technology can definitely make improvements to cut down on energy waste with those products. We owe it to our society, our future, and our children’s future to be smarter about conserving energy. I am in full support and favor the proposed energy standards proposed to cut down and eliminate wasted energy sources such as the ones mentioned. Other energy alternatives are worth looking into since ultimately we will all pay for the consequences if not controlled in a timely and efficient manner.
