Urgent Concern over EPA Control of Hazardous Air Pollutants from Mobile
Sources -
I am furious with EPA chief Stephen Johnson over his arrogant refusal to perform
the basic function that his title demands. Mr. Johnson's stalling tactics
tarnish the EPA, but worse, stand as models of irresponsibility for the
environment – models for already irresponsible nations to hold up as
justification for their ever-worsening environmental records.
If Mr. Johnson read and understood transcripts of the 2007 U.N. Climate Change
Conference, he couldn’t help but realize that the current state of environmental
decay has snowballed dramatically faster than anticipated, and further, that his
anemic direction of the EPA puts us all closer to facing an insurmountable task.
The very name, “Environmental Protection Agency” implies that this agency is
tasked with environmental protection, and I feel for those steadfast employees
who exhibit genuine concern for our planet, but under the direction of Stephen
Johnson, the EPA has become an international joke.
