I would like to say that I am strongly in favor of the amendment to the Tier 2 regulations
for relaxed NOx standards for diesels. I believe this will allow more manufacturers to
bring in diesel powered vehicles which will help increase fleet mpgs and reduce the
U.S.A's dependency on foreign oil.
Diesels can also help to bolster our economy due to the fact that they can run on
vegetable oil based fuels, which can be grown and produced locally, keeping both jobs
and money in the US.
Furthermore, I also believe that this will help to improve air quality as diesel emit much
less VOC emissions, which have been implicated in the rise of weekend ozone effect.
