The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services offers these comments on the Review of the National Ambient Air Quality Standards for Lead, Docket ID No. EPA-HQ-OAR-2006-0735. Based on the most recent science of the serious life-long health effects of lead, current human exposure and risk assessments, and the extensive experience of the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) regarding lead exposure hazards, DHSS would support a primary Lead NAAQS of 0.2 µg/m3 or lower that is protective of 99.5% of the population.
