I agree with this new proposal. Our environment is fundamental to our future. To retain 1-hour nonattainment NSR for certain areas, could only ensure steps in a positive direction. Our community should take more responsibility in protecting our environment. For too long, citizens have been given the freedom to not consider the consequences of their actions, or lack of. These standards need to be enforced. I do not feel it is worth the risk to allow any area to backslide. The new proposal may seem minor on paper but the impact will be beneficial. In addition to helping our environment, this could potentially help those with health problems. Inadvertently, by lowering health risks in our citizens, it could also decrease health costs. We have to start taking the necessary steps to protect our environment, our future, and the people.
