I believe we must extricate our country and our economy from control by and use of fossil fuels. However, I believe this should be accomplished on a national and nationwide basis, not on a patchwork, state-by-state basis. We should do this with extreme care and caution to GET IT RIGHT. I KNOW that the auto companies are working feverishly to solve the fuel problem. My state, Michigan, is providing strong support to solve the critical battery problem. We must not kill ourselves off economically in the rush to solve the climate crisis by creating more problems than we solve, such as using batteries that require materials that would make us dependent on foreign countries. I strongly oppose California’s request to regulate greenhouse gases from automobiles.
