Hydrocarbon refrigerants should be exempted from the Section 608 venting prohibition - unless of course the EPA is seeking to pass out flatulence bags at my wife's yoga class or the EPA is looking to hook up emission recovery bags to the front and back end of those cow's making ice cream in Vermont... Capture a low global warmer? Should we stop exercising because it increases CO2 output? How about stopping Fourth of July fireworks? Boating, snowmobiling, or ATV-ing? How about sex - nice source of CO2 emissions in that activity. How about we just ship the few manufacturing jobs we have left to China, capture our farts, stop enjoying being vibrant Americans, get fat and die early so the environment is saved in the name of fighting global warming. Unique fittings? Refrigerators, window AC and most small systems don't have service fittings. If a fitting is needed, line piercing fittings are available to techs and to the public. EPA – it’s about time you got out of regulating refrigerants - I am all for using the hydrocarbons from the Kwik-E-Mart - one can does both service and you can take it grilling or camping. For once, this is a government regulation I don't disagree with.
