New Gas Can Spouts - Terrible:
HAVE ANY OF THE REGULATORS WHO CAME UP WITH THIS ACTUALLY TRIED TO FILL A GENERATOR WITH A NEW SPOUTED 5 GAL CAN?????
We have recently had multiple power outages, so have had to run and fuel our generator. Also, my mother in law has had to do same. 5 Gal cans need to be used to effectively fill and refill the machine. One version of the new spouts almost require 3 hands to hold down the lever. On another spout version you need carefull placement and pressure to position a little notch on the spring loaded spout end while the gas trickles out. The flow is so bad that you have to maintain a grip much longer than with a regular spout. EITHER OF THESE IS VERY DIFFICULT TO MAINTAIN A HOLD ON THE CAN AND IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR THOSE WITHOUT GOOD HAND SIZE AND STRENGTH. Impossible for my mother in law. A 5 gal can is hard enough to hoist without these so called Enviro friendly spouts.
I don't get it - I have been eco conscious all my life and cannot figure out how these cans actually help. Gas fumes escape anyway when you remove the cap to filll the trank. The gas still splashes around during the filling and emptying, so what is the point. How many people are you trying to piss off about the EPA. One of the new SPOUT cans leakeed so much fumes, it filled the garage and I had to get rid of it. My old cans never leaked fumes. You aren't helping!
