Docket ID No. EPAHQOAR20100929
Administrator Lisa Jackson,
The Clean Air Act makes clear that emission data -- including the inputs to emissions equations -- must be released to the public. I strongly oppose industry efforts to delay reporting of crucial greenhouse gas data until 2014, five years after Congress ordered EPA to put the greenhouse gas reporting system in place. If polluters do
not wish to use emissions equations, they should not get special treatment. Instead, they should simply be required to directly measure their emissions, as the reporting rule already allows.
The public owns the atmosphere. No big company has the right to pollute the air in secret.
And with the climate crisis getting worse every day, we need the best data now more than ever. This is not the time to turn EPA's excellent greenhouse gas reporting system into a black box. Please stay the course and ensure that reporting goes forward quickly, comprehensively, and transparently.
Thank you for your consideration of this important matter.
Sincerely,
Mr. Geoffrey Graham
