Amitraz has been used worldwide in companion animal veterinary medicine for a number of years. It?s principle uses have been in the treatment and control of tick infestations and certain mite induced diseases. In my experience, amitraz has been a safe, effective and valuable asset in the control of ticks and mites, and as an aid in the control of important vector-borne diseases in many world markets. I look forward to the continued presence of amitraz among several important choices for effective control of acarines of veterinary importance. Amitraz provides effective, unique and safe chemistry in a market where the potential for development of resistance remains a concern.
