PUBLIC COMMENT ON FEDERAL REGISTER OF 7/18/07 VOL 72 #137 OIL
PRODUCING FACILITIES AND THE OIL SPILLS THAT GO ON EVERY SINGLE
DAY.
FIRST OF ALL ALL SPILLS OVER 20,000 GALLONS SHOULD BE
REPORTABLE AND REPORTED WITHIN 2 HOURS. AND WITHIN 2 HOURS
THE MOP UP SHOULD BEGIN. SECONDLY, EVERY SINGLE OIL SPILL
NEEDS TO BE PUT IN THE LOCAL NEWSPAPER SO THAT THE PEOPLE CAN
TELL WHAT IS GOING ON. THERE NEEDS TO BE A PUBLIC
ANNOUNCEMENT OF THIS OIL SPILL FOR THE PEOPLE LIVING NEAR IT. IT
IS CLEAR THAT THE HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF OIL SPILLS THAT ARE
HAPPENING IN THIS COUNTRY ARE BEYOND BELIEF NEGLIGENT. THE OIL
GUYS ARE IN CONTROL IN WASHINGTON AND THEY ARE POLLUTING THIS
COUNTRY BEYOOND BELIEF. IT IS TIME TO STOP THIS POLLUTION AND
THE CARELESS AND NEGLIGENT WAY THAT OUR COUINTRY IS TREATED.
WE CANNOT ALLOW THIS ENDLESS POLLUTION TO CONTINUE. WE NEED
HIGHER FINES FOR THOSE POLLUTERS INSTEAD OF A SLAP ON THE
WRIST. IT IS TIME FOR THE ADMNISTRATION TO GET TOUGH ON OIL
PROFITEERS, WHO RETIRE WITH $400 MILLION DOLLAR PENSIONS WHILE
PUTTING THE REST OF AMERICA THROUGH HELL.
