I am writing this letter as a concerned citizen who owns pecan trees. i am concerned about the loss FO Temik in pecan orchards in our area. Temik is a highly valuable tool for use in growing pecans. It is the only systemic material we have available to us that will control yellow pecan aphid, black margined aphid, and black pecan aphid. The use of this material according to the label allows the effective control of detrimental inssects and decreases the use of foliar applied materials that require many more applications than the single soil application of Temik. Temik used in rotation with other products decreases the chances of insect resistance and reduces the overall use of insecticides in pecan orchards across the U.S. Recent research has shown that damage from pecan aphid may cause more economic damage to growers than any other pecan insect. The loss of Temik would be a tremendous setback for the pecan industry. I urge you to please continue the label for Temik (aldicarb) on pecans in the United States. Sincerely, Stan Feil
